REVIEW OF
YOUR GUIDE TO MARKETING BOOKS
IN THE CHRISTIAN MARKETPLACE
BY SARAH BOLME
This is the 3rd edition of this award-winning book, so you already know it’s something special. I was not disappointed. Your Guide to Marketing Books in the Christian Marketplace targets small publishers, self-publishers, and authors, so we’re all covered.
I have to admit, my first thought was, “Another marketing book?” because I already own a whole load of previously published ones. But once I began reading, I wanted to just go straight through without stopping. I never thought the subject could be so interesting. The formatting of this book is done in such a way that I never experienced tedium.
Sure, there is lots of information that I’ve heard before, but always presented in a fresh way that allows me to understand how to apply what the author illustrates. That being said, you are also sure to find an assortment of new and unique information. Let me tell you, I took lots of notes, writing down the pages where I’ll find marketing concepts that fit my own current novel. This book is so comprehensive that it not only explains what the idea is, but how to implement it, as well as the avenues and resources.
For instance, there is a section for targeting special markets, which includes e-books, the homeschool market, urban and Spanish language books. You’ll find just about all you need to help get your books out there in any one of these niches.
For myself,
Your Guide to Marketing Books in the Christian Marketplace has sparked a multitude of marketing ideas that I will try, not only for my current release, but for future releases, as well. I believe all authors, new and seasoned, as well as publishers will find many useful concepts. I highly recommend it.
