REVIEW OF
DISNEY’S OLD DOGS
A friend invited me to an advanced screening of Disney’s Old Dogs, starring Robin Williams and John Travolta. I’m so glad I accepted. This movie was a laugh-a-minute in the way that Robin Williams’ earlier comedic movies were.
Dan (Williams) and Charlie (Travolta) are lifelong best friends and business partners. Dan is an unlucky-in-love divorcee, while Charlie is a confirmed bachelor. Their lives are suddenly disrupted by the discovery that Dan is the father of seven year old twins, who are unexpectedly placed in their temporary care. These two men have never even been around children, let alone care for them, but this wrinkle comes at the worst time: just when they’re about to make the biggest business deal of their careers. Awkward situations and hi-jinks abound. An all-star cast includes, Kelly Preston, Seth Green, Matt Dillon, Justin Long, Lori Loughlin, and Ella Bleu Travolta in her movie debut.
There’s a little crude humor, but nothing most kids haven’t already seen. For the most part, a pretty clean movie. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a fun movie with lots of laughs.
