REVIEW OF
CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC DVD
For me, this is a delightful movie. I like Isla Fisher and Hugh Dancy to begin with, and one thing that drew me to Confessions of a Shopaholic, is that it is rated PG alone. No PG13 rating. Nothing off-color that I can remember. It’s just a super-cute chick-lit romantic comedy.
In Confessions of a Shopaholic, Rebecca Bloomwood lives in New York City as a magazine writer, but longs to work for Alette. She discovers that securing employment with a financial magazine owned by the same publishing company is a step toward her goal. Because she is deeply in debt from her obsession with shopping, it seems she is out of her element writing pieces on how to save or make money. Yet, she’s really good at it.
At the same time, Rebecca competes for the affections of her boss, Luke Brandon, with a beautiful Alette employee, while a debt collector is hot on her heels. You can imagine the mayhem that ensues. Granted Fisher’s character is a little ditzy and klutzy, but I still recommend this movie.
