REVIEW OF
THE CHRISTMAS DOG
BY MELODY CARLSON
This novella is a delightful Christmas confection that warms the heart of the reader. It’s hot chocolate for the soul.
Lonely Betty Kowalski is having a hard time getting into the holiday spirit. Her husband is gone, her children live far away, and she has a new neighbor who seems to be tearing his house apart day and night without a thought as to whom he might be disturbing. When a mangy dog appears on her doorstep, she assumes it belongs to said neighbor, Jack Jones. She returns the dog to his yard, which begins an ongoing feud between the two. But the stage is set for Betty to learn what Christmas is really all about.
The Christmas Dog is full of life lessons we should exercise every day, not just for the Christmas season. It touches on kindness, trust, and faith, among other things. I highly recommend this feel-good novella.
