REVIEW OF
SURRENDER TO LOVE
BY MARYANN DIORIO
This was a delightful read! A sweet story about a Doctor of Philosophy and life coach who loses her husband after only two years of marriage.
Teresa Gonzalez is still holding on to the memory of her husband five years after his death. Her life is at a standstill. But when she is invited to Puerto Rico by a childhood friend of her mother to life coach the woman’s granddaughter, she finds a way to begin life anew, and another chance at love.
Marcos Sanchez had lost his wife in childbirth years ago and has raised his daughter on his own. But Pilar is having problems in her young life, and he is at his wits end to help her. What the girl really needs is a mother. But, for now, the best he can do is hire a life coach who is his mother’s best friend’s daughter who lives in the States. Will she be able to help Pilar heal? Will she be able to help Marcos heal, too?
Holding a Ph.D. and being a life coach herself, MaryAnn Diorio adds authenticity as to how people can benefit from this practice. The descriptive prose she weaves in regarding Puerto Rico, the hotel where she stays, the food all lends to giving the reader a feeling of “being there.” This is a book I recommend to anyone of any age who enjoys sweet romances.
