REVIEW OF
THE WOODS
BY
HARLAN COBEN
No wonder Harlan Coben is a #1 Bestselling author. He never disappoints. This book has so many twists; it really keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Twenty years ago, four teenagers at summer camp walked into the woods at night. Two were found murdered, and the others were never seen again. Four families had their lives changed forever. Now, two decades later, they are about to change again.
One of the youths never found was the sister of Essex County Prosecutor, Paul Copeland. While raising his six-year-old daughter alone after losing his wife to cancer, a homicide victim is found with evidence linking him to Paul. Now, old secrets of his family are threatened. Could the homicide victim be one of the campers who disappeared with his sister? Is his sister alive? The past Paul has left behind comes rushing back to destroy him, and he must find the truth, before his personal life and career are ruined.
I was drawn into the story from the first sentence. Coben’s opening lines are always intriguing. But from then on, I was hooked for good, and the read is satisfying to the end. Characters, setting, plot . . . everything melds together into a perfect page-turner. I highly recommend this book. You won’t be disappointed.
