This book held my interest from the first page to the last. Full of suspense you can sink your teeth into. The Redemption of Caralynne Hayman gives us a peek into the brutal world of religious cults run by cruel men.

Caralynne Hayman’s older abusive husband dies of a heart attack that she could have prevented. But saving her two little girls was foremost in her mind. A third, her oldest, had died at the hands of the Children of Righteous Cain. Her husband, an elder, had done nothing to stop it. This was the only way.

Dayne MacFarland, a young minister just out of seminary, comes home to fill the position of pastor for the group’s church. He harbors ideas of how he can change things for the better, and do away with some of their horrific rules. But when other members begin dying, and Leroy Simmons, chief elder, has it in for Cara, Dayne knows he has to unravel secrets from the past to put an end to the whole fiasco.

Lifelong friends, Dayne and Cara have always loved each other. Will they ever be free from the laws of the Children of Righteous Cain to be together and love a different God than they’d been taught about? If you like social justice stories and romantic suspense, you’ll thoroughly enjoy The Redemption of Caralynne Hayman by Carole Brown.
