REVIEW OF
PURSUED
BY LILLIAN DUNCAN
Pursued is a story where big-city uptightness meets small-town humbleness. Literally. Reggie Myers is a young Cleveland attorney whose goal it is to become a powerful lawyer someday. She wants nothing to do with her own humble beginnings growing up as an orphan in the foster system. Dylan Monroe is the kind and gentle farmer with the integrity of Joseph in the Bible. When he and Reggie meet through a fender-bender auto accident, Dylan whisks her to safety when they learn someone means to do Reggie harm. In the process, Reggie learns about perfect love, humility, and the Lord Jesus. But will they find her predator so she can live to enjoy them?
The plot is well-structured, and kept me turning the pages. Reggie and Dylan are interestingly unique characters I became attached to from page one. I liked that Dylan surprises with a few little twists the reader never expects. Supporting characters are not cardboard cutouts, thrown in just to make the hero/heroine look good. They are likeable, and enhance the story. Lillian’s prose flows so smoothly, that it kept me going along at a good pace. The result: I had finished the book before I knew it.
I recommend this book to all those who love straight romance, suspense, and romantic suspense. You won’t be sorry.
