REVIEW OF
AFTER ALL
BY DEBORAH RANEY
I have always enjoyed every book I’ve read by Deborah Raney, including After All. This is the second in a series, and it’s a pity I’ve missed the first. I think I would have liked that one, too.
In After All, Susan Marlowe is finally beginning to heal eighteen months after she lost her husband David in the terrible Grove Street Fire.
But then she discovers that David had been hiding something he’d done that was unforgiveable. This changes everything she thought their marriage had been, and turns her world upside down.
Fire chief, Peter Brennan, feels responsible for the death of the brave firefighters who lost their lives in the fire that awful night. Could he have somehow prevented the tragedy?
Continual fallout from the fire brings Susan and Pete together in ways they never imagined, but would they ever imagine finding comfort in each others’ arms?
This story contains all the elements of a terrific read: Love, romance, redemption, forgiveness, humility, bravery, and the list goes on. If those ingredients are a must for your enjoyment, then don’t hesitate to run out and buy After All.
