REVIEW OF
CHESAPEAKE WEDDINGS
BY CECELIA DOWDY
What I love about Cecelia Dowdy’s stories is that she explores tough issues. She writes about subjects such as, alcoholism, embezzlement and child abandonment, to name a few. And then there is the sweet romantic element to each novel that ties it all together in a satisfying way.
In this three-in-one collection of her romance novels, you’ll find John’s Quest, about a young woman who takes in the blind child her sister abandoned. In Milk Money, Emily Cooper desperately tries to save the dairy farm she inherited after her father’s death; and in Bittersweet Memories, a hair stylist moves back home with her mother after her fiancé is caught embezzling money from the church.
I read
John’s Quest when it was a stand-alone novel, and quite enjoyed it, wanting to be able to read Cecelia’s next volume in the series. My chance finally came in the form of this anthology, with the third as a bonus. If you like sweet romances woven around realistic life situations, then this book is for you. I think you’ll enjoy it as much as I have.
