REVIEW OF
THE LOST COIN
BY
MONICA CANE WITH ERIN K. BROWN
I was hooked from the very beginning. The premise for The Lost Coin is that an innocent young woman leaves family to go out on her own and be independent. Before she can leave town on the bus, she loses her money, but is helped by a handsome, charming, charismatic man. Before she knows it, he sweeps her off her feet, and pulls her along for a rocky ride she’ll never forget. It’s about innocence lost, love, trickery and redemption.
There were some minor writing rules broken, but nothing that could deter me from reading on, eager to reach the conclusion of the book. Additionally, those broken rules gradually disappeared by the last third of the book.
The characters were wonderfully drawn; Elaina and her innocence, and Nick with his dastardly ways. And I can’t forget Mr. James, who is a little eccentric in his ways, but such a kind and Godly man.
If you like drama and tear-jerkers, this book is for you. I highly recommend it!
