REVIEW OF
THE BRIDE WORE COVERALLS
BY DEBRA ULLRICK
This book was so much fun to read! Debra Ullrick gives us a unique look at the sport of mud-bog racing.
Camara Cole, a young woman who works and plays in an environment dominated by men, is determined to win the mud-bog racing championship. Chase Lamar, her rival in almost every aspect of her life, is also her worst enemy. But as Chase grows in his new faith, he begins to see Camara in a different light. Surprisingly, Camara’s feelings change toward Chase, too.
When Camara’s vehicle is sabotaged during a race, the evidence points to Chase as the culprit. Camara’s trust in him weakens, and he aims to prove his innocence. When the truth comes out, are their feelings for each other strong enough to mend broken fences . . . and also their hearts?
I’ll admit to being a prissy kind of person who normally has no interest in anything having to do with mud. I’d never even heard of mud-bog racing before reading this book. But Debra Ullrick does an excellent job of introducing me to the sport, even making me like it when seen through the eyes of Camara Cole and Chase Lamar. And speaking of those wonderful characters, I immediately began to feel they were old friends. The story had some satisfying twists and, of course, the sweet romance tugged at my heart. Oh, and a little surprise at the end made me laugh.
I highly recommend The Bride Wore Coveralls. You won’t be sorry.
