REVIEW OF
LOVE FINDS YOU IN LAST CHANCE, CA
By
Miralee Ferrell
I love Miralee Ferrell’s writing, and in Love Finds You in Last Chance, California, she’s at the top of her game.
In Love Finds You in Last Chance, Alexia Travers is left alone after her father dies unexpectedly, leaving her with a heavily mortgaged ranch. She could marry most any man she chooses from the small town to solve all her problems, but Alex isn’t interested. Instead, she dons men’s trousers and rides the range, determined to make the ranch a success on her own. But everything seems to go wrong: ranch hands quit, horses are stolen, and her father’s gold goes missing. Alex is at her wit’s end when wrangler Justin Phillips arrives in last Chance with his young son, looking for a job. But Alex isn’t sure he’s telling the truth about who he is. Can she trust him? And will she ever learn to trust and depend on God?
Miralee Ferrell did a wonderful job with scene description and character development. I could swear I lived right there in Last Chance with all those colorful characters. I rooted for the feisty Alexia Travers, and swooned over the quietly strong Justin Phillips. And the touch of suspense to the story kept me turning the pages.
If you like historicals and/or westerns with a splash of romance, you’ll love Love Finds You in Last Chance, California.
