REVIEW OF
BEFORE THE SEASON ENDS
BY
LINORE ROSE BURKARD
This is simply one of the best Regency romance novels I have ever read. Linore Rose Burkard offers to Christian readers what has never been available before. If you love Jane Austen, you’ll love this book.
In Before the Season Ends, Ariana Forsythe is sent to her wealthy Aunt Bentley’s townhouse in upscale Mayfair, London. Ariana’s aunt is to present her to society for the London season, and is determined to marry her off to an available rich gentleman. But Ariana’s heart, faith, and future are all at stake, as she falls for the handsome but cranky rogue, Mr. Phillip Mornay, who does not share her religious beliefs. Moreover, she finds herself betrothed to him in order to clear her name of a malicious rumor spread by a woman she scarcely knows. Because of his lack of faith in God, Ariana is sure Phillip Mornay is the wrong man for her. But the betrothal has been made, and it’s too late to turn back.
Aside from a perfectly romantic and charming story, Linore Rose Burkard’s prose is such that the reader feels deeply imbedded in the story. The descriptions of her settings take you from the parlour to the ballroom, from Hyde Park to Vauxhall, where you experience every nuance right along with the characters. And speaking of the characters, they are so absolutely vivid, that you’ll be thinking about them long after you turn the last page. I highly recommend this book!
