REVIEW OF
DÉJÀ VU BRIDE
BYDEBRA ULLRICK
I reviewed Debra Ullrick’s first novel, The Bride Wore Coveralls, a romance woven around mud bog racing, and loved it. Déjà vu Bride is the sequel, involving another family member and monster trucks. I must say this one’s every bit as heartfelt and entertaining as the first!
In Déjà vu Bride, Olivia Roseman is furious with God for allowing her to lose everyone she’s ever loved. Besides, He never seems to answer her prayers. Why should she trust Him? Having lost her job, and with very little money, she decides to make a new life in Charity, West Virginia; a life without God and love.
Erik Cole has no idea why the Lord has led him to move from Swamper City, Alabama to Charity, until Olivia Roseman enters his life. He hires her to airbrush his monster truck, and quickly realizes she’s not only a woman down on her luck, but has lived a hurtful past. He is determined to help her any way he can, which becomes his biggest challenge. His feelings deepen toward the unpredictable Olivia, but he hopes and prays that she will one day open her heart to Christ—and to him.
This is another fun book, by Debra Ullrick. It’s humorous and tear-jerking at the same time. The romantic scenes are delicious, and I’ve learned about another sport involving trucks that I never even knew existed! If you’ve read Debra’s first and enjoyed it, you won’t want to miss this one.
