Have you ever wondered where you would go if you could travel in time? I would visit the post-revolutionary American colonies and get a peek at some of the founding fathers. Wouldn’t it be amazing to see the first flag? It was the beginning of industrialization for the rural villages. I would visit each colony and find cottages where I could buy fresh bread from a baker and hear the clucking of chickens in neighboring yards.
It would be amazing to listen to the common speech of the time and compare it to our language today. For a time, it would be fun to dress in their clothes and sample the recipes. I don’t know if I would be a quick learner at churning butter, spinning cloth or cooking over a hearth. However, I think I would discover that, in spite of customs, the basic nature of people would be the same.
